Well it is happening in the music world again what was popular once is now popular with the kids who were young or weren't even born yet. I am talking about RickRoll which is a renewed interest in the singer Rick Astley's one hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" for some odd reason it has become the song of protest for those who are against the Scientologist movement. It is also being used on YouTube in a number of odd ways. The
LA Times that explains it further. Anyway, it proves my theory that being a one hit wonder in music is better than being an enduring artist because people will always remember you fondly even if they hated your music at the time. The evidence is there look at all the former 80's bands like Flock of Seagulls, Quiet Riot, Poison touring the lower end of the club circuit they sell out every time and the people love them. It doesn't matter if the original band plays together as long as it has at least one original member who owns the name. I admit I was a fan of Astley's hit and got some flak for listening to it not too long ago but maybe I'm just ahead of what is culturally cool and don't realize it sometimes.
Well until next time
